Zhang Ziyi (Memoirs of a Geisha) is joining Wendi Murdoch (wife of New Corp's Rupert Murdoch) and Florence Sloan (wife to MGM Chairman Harry Sloan) in producing drama "Snow Flower and the Secret Fan" based on novel by Lisa See and penned by Wang and Michael Ray. Principal begins early next year in China.

Very strange choice of a music in an otherwise serious film but I'm curious, Michelle Williams is usually decent so I'll probably see this.

FX is starting up "Reconstruction" a period Western from "St. Elsewhere" co-creator Joshua Brand and director/producer Peter Horn. Brand is writing and him, Horn and Aaron Kaplan are exec. producing. FX also has picked up "Lawman", a contemporary Western.
