Day 26

News…

Douche bag of the day

Yea, let's fake cancer, get all my friends and family to donate the money and spend it on a boob job. HUMAN FAIL.

News of the Weird…

The New York Times disclosed in June 1999 that about 2,000 obsolete, unfunctioning fire hydrants remain in place in New York City, each dry for almost 20 years, whose only purpose is to allow the city to collect fines from motorists who park too close to them. Supposedly, a contractor will begin removing them soon, but since that costs about $6 million, the project may be delayed. [New York Times, 6-16-99]

Parenting Made Simple: The father of the baby is only 13 years old, but his own dad told reporters in Manchester, England, in October that the kid "will make a good father" and "is taking his responsibilities very seriously." He is "mature for his age" and "knows what he's about." The new dad said he plans to quit school and work full-time to support the child and the 16-year-old mother (though the earning power of a 13-year-old is uncertain). [Daily Telegraph (London), 10-3-09]

NOTE: Apparently the girl had gotten pregnant from a 16 year old she slept with before the 13 year old. Oy.

The Guardians of Childhood This looks pretty darn cool in the realm of fantasy and children's stories. With David Lindsay-Abaire penning the film it should be fantastic esp with Peter Ramsey directing.

Trailers…

This guy seems interesting, never heard of him, must do some research.

Mammoth Starring Gael Garcia Bernal and Michelle Williams.
Very strange choice of a music in an otherwise serious film but I'm curious, Michelle Williams is usually decent so I'll probably see this.

TV...

FRINGE IS BACK THIS TONIGHT. HOORAY.

Update: FRINGE sucks now. It's really lame, c'mon guys, get some good stories going, like season 1, remember those good times!

Is it sad I wish I was stuck in LA for Thanksgiving because of this:

Food…

Daphne's Greek Cafe today. I usually love this place because I get a burger with fire feta and french fries...too bad they had kabobs and salad...LAME. I think that's worse, knowing it could be good and it not being...
